FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Maximiles, market research and public opinion polling

What can I expect from Maximiles? What kind of surveys are there?

As a member of Maximiles, you participate in market research and public opinion projects. We send you invitations either by email, text message and/or push notification; the most common form of project is online questionnaires. Sometimes we may also send you mobile projects that you can complete on your mobile phone. In addition, we regularly carry out research projects in which we invite you to exchange views on interesting topics in a closed community. From time to time, we may also ask you to try a product at home. Whether it is an online questionnaire, mobile survey, product test or community, your participation is always voluntary. For each project, you can decide whether you want to participate or not.

How does Maximiles participate in market and public opinion research?

We are commissioned by market and opinion research agencies, academic institutions and brands, among others, to collect responses for research projects. This means that your opinions are used in important projects that have real impact.

You will participate in studies that answer pressing and important questions about new products, the economy and society. Therefore, your opinion is always relevant and important.

Market and public opinion research also requires, as an industry standard, that your data be fully protected. All information we collect about you and your opinion is processed in accordance with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Why does Maximiles need my personal data?

We invite our members to participate in specific projects. For this purpose, potential participants are selected based on the information they have provided to us. You can update and change this information at any time. The more complete and up-to-date your profile is, the less likely it is that you will be sent an inappropriate project. Your personal data will never be passed on to a third party.

What happens to the responses I submit in projects? Is my personal information secure even if some invitation links redirect me to other companies?

All responses will be evaluated anonymously, meaning they cannot be linked to you personally. Your personal data will never be passed on to a third party. External companies will only see the aggregated and anonymous results of all participants.

Redirects to another website occur when we work with an external client. We only work with verified institutions, universities and companies. In this case, your personal data will never be passed on to a third party and the answers you provide to the survey will be anonymous.

Invitations to projects, topics and results

How do Maximiles projects work? How often will I be invited? How long does it take to complete a project?

You will receive invitations to projects via email, text message and/or push notification. In the invitation, we will inform you about the approximate time the project will take to complete and how many Maximiles points you will earn for participating. In the invitation, you will also find a personal link for your participation.

Our projects are generally active for a few days. However, it is possible that a project will be closed shortly after it goes online because a sufficient number of people have already joined.

Typically, you will be invited to participate in a project once a week. The frequency of invitations may vary. Projects last an average of 5 to 20 minutes.

Is it possible to stop the project and continue participating later or restart it? Can I change my answers later?

Unfortunately, for technical reasons this is generally not possible. If you are starting a project, you should take the time to fill out the survey.

Why do you have to answer the same questions, such as about age and residence? Why do you need information about my income?

This information is important for methodological reasons. Additional information about you is also important for our clients when evaluating the results. This way, we can, for example, see whether younger participants have different opinions on certain topics than older people. In addition, we can ensure that your information is up-to-date and accurate.

Whether we ask you about your age, residence, or income, your answers will never be used in connection with your name or address.

Why are some questions complex and long?

For methodological reasons, we formulate the questions as precisely as possible, which may mean that they sometimes sound complicated and are longer than usual. In this way, we try to avoid any misunderstandings.

What do the following messages mean: "You do not meet the required demographics" or "We are sorry, but we already have enough participants with similar profiles (e.g. age, gender identity, or even education) for this project."?

Some of our projects require a very specific target group. In these cases, we need to ask a specific number of people with specific characteristics. If you do not belong to this group, we want to save you time and effort.

Additionally, it's possible that you're the 101st person who wants to participate in a project that only requires, for example, 100 participants.

In this case, the survey will automatically close with one of the messages above.

How can I express my opinion or ask a question regarding the project? Can I submit a proposal on the same topic?

Send us an email with your question via the contact form on our website. We are always happy to hear your comments and suggestions about projects. This way we hear directly from our members what interests them.

Points and rewards

How is my participation rewarded?

You will earn points for your participation. Points are the currency of our program. The number of points awarded depends on the content and duration of the survey. Points are credited to your account each time you participate in the project.

If you are invited but do not belong to the group of participants we are looking for, we will award you 3 points. If there is no reward allocated for a specific project, we will inform you about this in the invitation.

What can I redeem my points for and how does it work?

Once you reach the Maximiles payout limit, you can exchange your Maximiles points for a bank transfer.

Can I make a bank transfer to a credit card or prepaid account?

Bank transfers can only be made to a bank account.

Can my Maximiles points expire?

Maximiles points credited to your account will not expire as long as you earn at least 1 point per year. All points earned will expire after 12 months of inactivity.

If you do not respond to any of our invitations or do not update your profile for more than 36 months, i.e. if you do not participate in any project, your Maximiles account will be deactivated.

Your points will also expire if you end your membership.

Can I earn Maximiles points for referring a friend?

Absolutely! You can earn up to 250 Maximiles points for each friend you refer who earns 150 points by completing surveys after they join us using your personal link. You can find more information about this option on the "Tell a Friend" page in your account section.
